Board Members

The Vic Park Community Centre currently receives State Government funding through the Department of Communities and an Operating Subsidy funding from the Town of Victoria Park. With over 25,000+ community interactions with the Centre in 2023/24, and big plans for the next few years, we invite you to help us make our place even more lively, connected and caring.

VPCC is governed by a progressive Board of Directors with a wide variety of skills and experiences. We now seek to add more motivated and enthusiastic people with qualifications and/or lived experience in one or more of the following areas to this:​

​

  • Accounting and financial management

  • Business and charity expertise

  • Legal

  • HR

  • Advocacy and stakeholder management

  • Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) leadership

  • Communications and marketing

  • Sponsorship, fundraising and social enterprise

  • Social impact evaluation

  • Access and Inclusion

  • Cultural engagement and production

Previous experience on boards not necessary but highly regarded, particularly in leadership roles (Chair, Deputy Chair, Treasurer). Ongoing training and up skilling provided via our peak body Linkwest. Local connection essential.

 

Applicants with lived experience of disability and from migrant backgrounds are encouraged to apply, as are First Nations and male/male identifying people.

This is a great opportunity to participate and make an impact in your local neighbourhood, as well as work with a dynamic and diverse board and team.

​

Responsibilities involve:

-Exercising joint governance of the organisation, and providing advice to the Manager in developing the Centre's network of partnerships, events and programs as well as stakeholder support. 

-Willingness to serve on a Board committee and participate actively in its work.

-Attending board meetings once every 6 weeks for a period of approximately 2 hours.

-Contributing guidance to: decision making, strategic aims, working processes and procedures.
