Social housing, homelessness, food relief, funding for the community sector and climate change were on the agenda this Friday, December 6, when Ben Wyatt visited our Centre for a regular catch up with local community groups.
In addition to being the State Treasurer, Minister for Finance, Lands and Aboriginal Affairs, Ben is Labor Party member for the seat of Victoria Park in the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia. Since October 2017, we’ve been organising regular meetings so he gets to hear directly from community groups and their concerns.
Representatives of Kensington PCYC, Rotary Vic Park, Vic Park Youth Accommodation, Australian Breastfeeding Association, Vic Park Community Centre and Vic Park Basic Needs Network attended the meeting. The group appreciates Ben being available to his constituents, and he’s happy to be able to hear from community organisations in one go.
We are currently organising the next meeting with his office. If you’re an interested community group who'd like to be on the invitation list next time, join our mailing list by clicking here.
