The Image Says it All

Hello Vic Park,

I am currently sitting in my room after my daily virtual workout, now waiting impatiently as I watch a fresh coat of polish dry on my nails. Talk about being a little frustrated. It is safe to say I am officially going stir crazy in my home. I miss the outdoors, giving someone a big hug and just going for the occasional retail therapy outing. However, in these challenging times it is even more important to find the positives amongst the negatives for our own mental health.

As difficult as it is, it's important that current restrictions be followed. The improved results we are seeing will only continue if we keep up the hard work. It feels like it's been forever since these restrictions started but the reason we are doing it is for our own benefit and the benefit of others. The more we follow these rules the faster we can get back to normality or something close to it. But I must say one thing… Thank you technology! Without it I would have 100% lost my mind.

The picture I have attached below was a photo I took sometime last year but the message on the jacket really stood out to me and I felt it was fitting.

It's a nice concept to think about. For the next 6 months I am going to take this phrase to heart. I am going to set some goals and fulfil the things that I have previously been making excuses for… and I have made excuses for many things.

Reading is one of them. I have a habit of buying books with thrilling titles, a great sounding plot and some fab first chapters. I read some then put the book down and forget where I am up to, basically I keep reading the same chapters over and over. I think that an awesome goal during this time would be to knock off a few of my books (or at least one). I would also like to try meditation and yoga. What better way to maintain a positive mindset than this and although it is not easy, I think it will be a lot of fun. Maybe this is an opportunity for all of us to do something we have been wanting to do, but never made the effort to start. Over the next few weeks I will update you on my progress and I hope you're all venturing towards something you many come to love.

Until next week,

Emily
